The route
The drive from Calistoga to SFO
SFO is about 88 miles from Calistoga — usually an hour and three quarters to two and a quarter. The slow parts are the Bay Bridge at one end and Highway 29 through the valley on busy weekends.
We come south on CA-29 through St. Helena, Yountville and Napa to American Canyon, join I-80 at Vallejo and cross the Bay Bridge before US-101 to the airport.

Calistoga is famous for its hot springs, mud baths and the geyser just outside town — and for being as far up Napa Valley as you can go. From SFO, that means the whole length of Highway 29.
On weekends, valley traffic through St. Helena and Yountville can add as much time as the Bay Bridge. We allow for both.
